What makes Mr. Trujillo so unique is that a conerstone of his platform includes a pledge to promote more gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transgenders into high ranking positions in the District Attorney's office. He has agressively sought and received the endorsement of many LGBT organizations, despite the advice of some of his former high paid consultants not to highlight this controversial issue.
As one member of his campaign told Dragnet L.A., "Look, he's here, he's queer, get used to it." Trujillo has told several audiences in recent months, "If I'm elected, I will open the doors to transgenders of all nationalities. They will serve in my administration, open and proud." Quite a bold statement for someone seeking the job of top prosecutor in a County the size of L.A.
The question buzzing through L.A. political circles is whether he can actually mount a serious campaign with a war chest close to $300,000. Time will tell.

Mario won't need to worry about filling the office with all these circus clowns. He's not going to win.
"He's here. He's queer." I like it. But why is he standing side by side with Steve Cooley who hates gays. Hey Mario. Remember Trev Brody? Pucker up to Cooley a little more why don't you as long as you are playing both sides. Does this mean you approve of Cooley's mishandling of hate crimes, because Cooley is good at it and it starts with the gay community.

Mario Trujillo is out of his mind. The DA's office is suppose to be about public safety, not his personal political/sexual agenda. He should leave his proclivities at home and let the office be run by professionals.
Is this really how Mario is campaigning? It is totally misguided. To add insult to injury, I heard last night that he has the same team that brought us Villaraisgoa running his campaign.
These all seem like short sighted rookie mistakes. D'oh!
Is that true, Mario has surrounded himself with Villaraigos's team? Is he trying to lose?
How stupid can he be? First, they'll take him to the cleansers and second they will bathe him in a Villariagosa stink of epic failure that he'll never be able to wash off.
I am completely dumbfounded.
